Cycle Tech and Summit Motorsports Park

Cycle Tech, in Bucyrus, Ohio has been a consistent sponsor of the Super Bike class at Summit Motorsports Park since many of us can remember! The company has steadfastly stood behind the two-wheeled racing faction, and has been a driving force in the very intense competition that exists in Super Bike. One very good reason for the company’s involvement is that Rick McWaters, one of the most serious bike racers at the track, is Cycle Tech’s owner!

Rick McWaters is an entrepreneur that opened Cycle Tech in 1989 and just passed his 20th year of continuous operation. In his formidable years at Pioneer Joint Vocational School in Shelby, Ohio, Rick undertook motorcycle engine repair and finished at the top his class. Coupled with youthful enthusiasm, it didn’t take long to parlay his natural mechanical genius into a thriving business. As with all thriving businesses, there comes a time when expansion becomes a necessity. Enter, Matt Roberts!

Matt is a 1999 Bucyrus High School Graduate. Upon completion of High School, Matt attended York Technical Institute for motorcycles where he graduated number one in his class. Matt has been working at Cycle Tech since his graduation from that prestigious school, and has added his expertise to the growing concern. Between Rick and Matt, any rider can feel secure that the service they receive from Cycle Tech will be the state-of-the-art best available. With a combined racing background that spans 30-plus years, there’s no doubt they can get better performance out of your bike.

From Rick’s younger years, he has had a serious fascination with motorcycles. Having involved himself with every conceivable aspect of motorized racing, Rick has achieved championship titles in motocross, road racing, and drag racing. Among his titles are two AMA Drag Bike Championships, 3 International Drag Bike Association Championships, and countless All Harley Drag Racing Association race wins.

Matt is involved with a stunt show riding on his 400EX. That show travels all over the state of Ohio and consists of riding tricks of all kinds. Including street bikes, dirt bikes and quads, the group of talented riders can entertain kids to adults. The seemingly endless parade of motorized tricks and stunts will leave the whole family spellbound!
